DPD Secure DeliveryUpdated a month ago
Why DPD Sends You a Security PIN -DPD sends a security PIN for deliveries that require extra verification, such as high-value or sensitive items. The PIN confirms the parcel is handed to the correct person at the correct address. When the driver arrives, they will ask for your PIN before completing the handover. This process helps prevent parcels from being lost, stolen, or delivered to the wrong person.
Do I Need a PIN for My DPD Delivery? -The PIN is mandatory for all parcels mainland UK orders, and the driver cannot release the item without it. This added step protects both you and the sender by ensuring the right person receives the package.
Can’t Find Your DPD Security PIN? -If you have not received your DPD PIN, first check your text messages and emails for any recent updates from DPD. The PIN is sent in the morning, ahead of your scheduled delivery time, either through SMS or email linked to your order. Make sure you check your junk or spam folders as well. If you still cannot find it, please check your contact details on your confirmation email. If the information is correct the DPD’s driver can directly resent this upon arrival to you.
If your contact info is incorrect, click the “Can We Help You?” button located in the lower right corner of any page on our website. Select “Live Chat – Existing Purchase Help” to speak with a live agent during our opening hours.
Alyernatively, please email [email protected] with your order number in the subject line.
Can My DPD PIN be Resent? -Yes. If you lose your PIN or it does not arrive, DPD can resend it to the mobile number or email address associated with your delivery. You can only do this once the DPD driver arrives for delivery. It’s important that your contact details are correct, as the PIN can only be sent to the registered contact on the order.
Can I Give My PIN to Someone Else? -You should only share your DPD security PIN with someone you trust within the household, if they are accepting the parcel on your behalf. They will need to provide the PIN to the driver when the delivery arrives. Once the driver enters the PIN, the parcel is marked as delivered and cannot be redirected, reclaimed or reported lost or stolen. To keep your delivery secure, avoid sharing your PIN with anyone you do not know personally.
What If I Need to Change My Number? -If your contact number has changed and you are expecting a DPD delivery, update your details as soon as possible. DPD sends delivery updates and security PINs to the phone number provided at checkout, so incorrect details can stop you from receiving your parcel.
If you need to change your number before dispatch has happened, click the “Can We Help You?” button located in the lower right corner of any page on our website. Select “Track and Manage Orders” and sign in to view the most recent update on your order.
If you order has already been dispatched and is with DPD, return to the main menu and select “Live Chat – Existing Purchase Help” to speak with a live agent during our opening hours.
Alternatively or if you have trouble logging in, please email [email protected] with your order number in the subject line or contact us via our Contact page.
If you need to change your number while the delivery is out for delivery, the update will not apply until the parcel returns to the DPD depot. This means it will need to be reschedualed the following day. Once your contact details are updated, DPD will resend your delivery updates and PIN to the new number. Make sure your new number is active and able to receive SMS messages to avoid further delays.
Do I Need a PIN to Collect My Parcel from HUBBOX? -No, you do not need a security PIN to collect a parcel from a HUBBOX location. Once your parcel has been delivered to your chosen collection point, a QR code will be available in the DPD app.
To collect your parcel, show the QR code along with a valid photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence. The QR code and ID confirm your identity and ensure your parcel is released securely.
